UEFA have this morning confirmed that Manchester United will face no sanctions following the chants about the Hillsborough disaster that were heard from their end during last Thursday's Europa League tie at Anfield.
Odious chants about both the Hillsborough and Munich air disasters, led by a moronic minority of Manchester United and Liverpool supporters, have marred clashes between these clubs in the past. On this occasion it was chants about Hillsborough and subsequent media coverage of the disaster which was particularly prevalent during the first leg clash.
Manchester United condemned the chants in the aftermath of the game, but the club will face no sanction as the chants were not mentioned in the match official's report.
