UEFA have barred Israeli teams from playing home games while the fighting between Israel and Hamas continues. The decision affects the Israeli teams due to play in European competition this month.

The decision is reminiscent of the World Cup 2010 qualifiers when Ireland's away game with Georgia was held in Mainz because of the Russian-Georgian conflict.

In a separate decision, Russian and Ukrainian sides will not be allowed face each other. FC Zenit and Dnipro are both in the draw for the first round of Champions League but they cannot be paired together.
