A chaotic and highly entertaining game at Old Trafford finished 1-1 between Man Utd and Bournemouth.
Late in the first half, there was a minute of carnage which saw both Tyrone Mings and Zlatan Ibrahimovic somehow avoid being sent-off.
Mings stamped on Ibrahimovic's head as he attempted to leap over the Swede who was on the ground. Shortly after, Ibrahimovic got retribution when he elbowed Mings as the two challenged for the ball in the air.
Andrew Surman did see red, for a second bookable offence, in the aftermath.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Mings denied intentionally stamping on Ibrahimovic's head.
Not at all. I would never do that. That's not in my game. Hard and fair is how I like to tackle. Off the ball stuff like that is not part of my game.
Mings was also asked about some words exchanged between him and the Man Utd striker shortly after.
He just said, 'Well played. You're a good player.' No, he didn't.
He is who he is. He's a good player. He's a physical player. I knew what battle I was going to be in for, coming here and playing against him. That's what we had all day, it was a battle.
There was maybe an elbow when the ball came in after. I didn't see it. I felt it. What happened after that with Surman getting sent off.
Mings admitted to having a feeling that Ibrahimovic was coming for him during the game.
I had that feeling for the rest of the game. I had that feeling for the whole game. Like I said he's a physical guy. It was a good battle all day.
