Ireland under-19 international Tyreke Wilson has been called into the Manchester City squad for their pre-season tour of the US.

Wilson, who played schoolboy football for Cherry Orchard before moving to Manchester, is a pacy attacking left-back.

The 18-year-old is one of a number of young players included in the group by Pep Guardiola.

16 City players featured at the World Cup. Just two - Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva - have been named in the tour squad by the Spaniard with others given a rest following their exertions in Russia. It means Wilson gets an opportunity to impress Guardiola.

City are scheduled to face Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Bayern Munich over the next 11 days as part of the International Champions Cup.

Wilson's father, Karl, played underage football for Ireland along with lining out for Coventry.

This season, Wilson will be part of Man City's Elite Development Squad.
