The official Balls.ie Euro 2016 Faceboook group turned out a humdinger of a story this morning.
One of the members of our group received incredibly late word last night that she had won two tickets to tonight's crucial match against Italy - but was only notified less than 24 hours before kick off. Not ideal, and with no travel plans arranged, tickets to be collected on
Orla Dardis, in her apparent role as footballing good samaritan, posted to the group that if anyone could pick the tickets up this morning from the Naas Road, they were theirs.
Another of our readers, Mark Fanning, decided to chance his arm and what followed is a thing of beauty.
This seems promising enough. Still though, too good to be true surely.
Apparently not. Mere hours before his flight to France was due to take off, Mark found himself looking for a car dealership on the Naas Road.
Nearly there.
All that remains is for Ireland to hammer Italy tonight to make this the greatest story ever told.
