In a season full of mistakes for Liverpool defensively, the last thing they needed was their goalkeeper Alisson making uncharacteristic errors.

While there was speculation if Caoimhin Kelleher would be given a rare start, Alisson was named to start in a full strength Liverpool side, with Cody Gakpo making his debut.

It was an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield, with both sides making mistakes. The first came from Liverpool, who were far too casual at the back, with Thiago giving the ball away.

Once it came to Alisson, he gave a dreadful pass that was blocked by Goncalo Guedes, who had an empty net to score into.

After Nathan Collins gave the ball away, Trent Alexander-Arnold provided a brilliant cross for Darwin Nunez to score a much needed goal with a tidy finish.

Liverpool had taken the lead seven minutes into the second half through Mohamed Salah after a VAR review, and showed some encouraging signs as they hoped to put the tie beyond Wolves.

However, Wolves were level 15 minutes later, with Alisson once again under the spotlight. A low ball in was met by Hee-Chan Hwang, and while it took a deflection off Joel Matip, Alisson should have done better.

However, on a FA Cup tie, there was no better time than now to give Kelleher an opportunity.

In a night where Joe Hodge and Nathan Collins were solid for Wolves, Kelleher has to be wondering what his future holds at Anfield.

Liverpool fans also shared this opinion, as they felt their Number one should have been rested for tonight's game.

On another night, VAR punishes another Alisson mistake and Liverpool lose 3-2.

Now that the sides will battle once again, Jurgen Klopp will be under pressure to give Kelleher an opportunity to show what he's capable of.
