With news breaking this morning that the Qatar World Cup will be played in Winter 2022, with the final on Dec 23rd, the internet has been quick to react;
Can't believe the World Cup final will clash with the Tipperary football final.

A proud day for the League of Ireland as FIFA is forced to move the 2022 World Cup to avoid clashing with our season http://t.co/jwojVnYCrR — Dodge (@seidodge) February 24, 2015

All this talk of a December 23rd World Cup Final in Qatar. Fifa obviously don't believe in Sanity Clause. #fifa #worldcup — Emmet Riordan (@emmetrd) February 24, 2015
FIFA confirm #Qatar2022 will be in winter, which will allow Qatar an extra few months to meet their target of 4000 workers killed.

FIFA awarded a World Cup to a country that couldn't host it at the appropriate time. Then claimed they didn't realise at the time. Genius. — colin murray (@ColinMurray) February 24, 2015

If they go ahead with World Cup in Nov/Dec Europe should send U18 teams and carry on as normal. Make a mockery of the competition #Qatar2022 — Stüart Jåm?s (@mrstuartjames) February 24, 2015
For one thing, a November World Cup would be hard on players - they'd be knackered having league matches on the same day as World Cup games.

@arseblog nothing says Christmas 2022 like England going out of a World Cup at the group stage — DarrenW (@dwoodyatt) February 24, 2015
If Qatar World Cup final is on 23 Dec, does that mean @FIFAcom expect travelling fans to give up Xmas with their families? Supreme arrogance
