Cork City's League of Ireland coronation will be delayed further as a result of damage inflicted upon Turner's Cross by the unprecedented insolence of Hurricane Ophelia.
Gusts of up to 150 km/h have battered the south coast this morning, with Cork's football stadium among the notable structures most seriously affected. Videos showed the roof of one of the stands lift and sway in accordance with the wind's caprices, and thanks to Sportsfile, we can now see the devastation left in the storm's wake.
With conditions soothing, Eoin Noonan of Sportsfile snapped these images of a stadium ransacked by the elements.
