The Holiday season is a pain in the goolies for professional footballers, whatwith the conjested Christmas period keeping them away from their children and families because, you know, they're footballers, not human beings.
Southampton, however, have made every effort to get into the festive spirit this season, and today uploaded a video to their severly-underrated Youtube channel which saw some of their star players face off in a straight face competition while telling woeful Christmas cracker jokes.
Predictably, none of them could hold it together while being asked questions like "What is ET short for," and so the video basically shows Shane Long - looking particularly impish in his Santa hat - and teammates cracking the shites laughing at each other. Long certainly can't believe the deplorable standard of the comedy on display, but Jay Rodriguez may steal the show towards the end with his straight-faced view on Christmas crackers as a concept.
It's extremely difficult not to laugh along with them here.
Also, how cool is Virgil van Dijk? The answer, of course, is exceptionally. We'll certainly be tuning in for more #SaintsXmas in the coming days.
