Troy Parrott felt he caught his incredible equalising goal for MK Dons against Wimbledon on Saturday "equally as sweet" as his sensational late winner for Ireland against Lithuania.

In the 80th minute against Wimbledon, Dean Lewington floated a ball into the box after a corner was headed clear. It found Parrott who smashed a volley to the net.

"I had a feeling he was going to put it out to me," said Parrott.

"I think we have a bit of a connection in terms of that. When I saw it coming across, there was only thing on my mind. It was good to get the goal, but we want to win every game."

MK Dons manager Liam Manning described it as a "moment of real quality".

"Great technique, terrific finish," said Manning.

"I thought we deserved to get something from the game. It was nice to score a goal in that manner, and extend the run."

Saturday's 1-1 draw was MK Dons' 15th consecutive match unbeaten. It's a run which has featured 11 wins, and has them second in League One, three points behind Wigan. Though the league leaders do have two games in hand. Third placed Rotherham, who are just three points behind MK Dons, also have two games in hand.

"It was a tough game for us from the very start," said Parrott.

"Their fans were on our backs and their fans were up for it, massively.

"It is tough for us on the pitch to keep strong mentally in terms of moving the ball quickly and trying to break them down when they put that many people behind the ball.

"As we've shown over recent weeks, we always believe we're going to get a chance. It came there today. It's a good thing that we took it."

Saturday's goal was Parrott's seventh goal of the season in League One. After a good start to his loan move - he scored three goals in his first eight league games - he went four months without a league goal. He now has four in his last six.

"He has shown massive faith in me, even when I was playing and not scoring, he kept giving me game time," said Parrott about his manager.

"It's nice to be able to repay him. I have a really good relationship with the manager."
