Ireland under-17 international Troy Parrott has signed his first full-time contract with Spurs.
"Very happy to sign a scholarship at Spurs dream come true, can’t wait to see what the future holds," wrote the Dubliner on Instagram.
Parrott was part of the Ireland team which controversially exited the European Under-17 Championships at the quarter-final stage following a penalty shootout against Holland back in May. He scored the goal which took that game to extra-time.
The 16-year-old agreed to join Spurs from schoolboy club Belvedere last year. He had reportedly been on the radar of Liverpool, Celtic and Chelsea. Parrott grew in the same area north inner city Dublin which produced Wes Hoolahan and Keith Treacy.
A scholarship contract means that Parrott will 'complete an academic education programme alongside his football commitments'.
