Troy Parrott has sustained what appeared to be a serious leg injury while in action for the Tottenham Under-23s on Monday night.
The Republic of Ireland prospect left the field against Derby on a stretcher in what reports suggest was a bad lower leg injury.
It's a cruel blow with the European Under-17 Championships kicking off this week in Dublin. Ireland manager Colin O'Brien named his squad earlier today and confirmed he had been in contact with Spurs about the possibility of playing Parrott.
"A decision will be made on the final player to complete the squad with O’Brien still in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the possibility of playmaker Troy Parrott being involved," an FAI statement declared.
