Troy Parrott has described the moment he scored his first-ever senior hat-trick as a "special feeling", after he guided Excelsior Rotterdam to a 7-1 win over ADO Den Haag yesterday evening in the Eredivisie relegation play-offs.
The Republic of Ireland striker struck three times in the space of 30 minutes to help his side reach the final of the relegation play-offs.
Currently on loan with the Dutch club, the Dubliner has had a difficult past few years. Contracted with Tottenham Hotspur until 2025, the striker has not played a senior game for the team since making his Premier League debut in December 2019.
Parrott's only other appearance for spurs came in their embarrassing defeat to Colchester in the EFL Cup earlier that year. The Dub was sent out on loan to Preston North End for the 2022/23 season, and was then subsequently loaned out to Excelsior for the 2023/24 season last August.

Troy Parrott Scores Brilliant 30-Minute Hat-Trick
In the second-leg of the Eredivisie relegation playoff semi-final, Excelsior Rotterdam held a narrow 2-1 lead over ADO Den Haag.
The game quickly burst into life within three minutes when Parrott picked up the ball inside the ADO penalty area, scooping the ball effortlessly over goalkeeper Nick Marsman. It was a classy finish from the young striker, who seems to have found some excellent form towards the end of the season.

Around 24 minutes later, Parrott doubled the scoring with another classy finish, this time from the other side of the box. Timing his run perfectly, the Republic of Ireland striker walked on to a well-weighted pass from Lazaros Lamprou and faced an oncoming Marsman again.
Much like his previous strike, Parrot lobbed the Dutch goalkeeper with ease, doubling his tally for the night.

A "Special Feeling"
Troy Parrott described the moment he scored his first hat-trick as a "special feeling", and was quick to commend his teammates for their performance in Saturday night's thumping victory.
“We came here to do what we had to do, to win the game, and I thought we won it in really good fashion.
I knew the first one wasn’t but the second one, I wasn’t too sure because I couldn’t see what was behind me. You have to just play until the whistle goes, good for us that it was onside and it got us off to a good start.
Parrott's second chip was a case of waiting to see how the keeper reacted to being 1v1 again. The 22-year-old described his thought process as he picked up the ball inside the penalty area, “After the first one, I thought maybe the keeper will think that I will do this again. He dropped early again, it was a nice goal."
On a hat-trick, when his side were awarded a penalty in the 30th minute, Parrott was handed the ball to take the spot kick.
“If anyone scores two goals and we get a penalty, I think it’s only right that this person takes the penalty. It was good...
We have two important games left to play and we’ll do everything that we can to win the two games.
Here's hoping he can produce a strong finish to what has been an impressive season from the Irishman.
