Troy Parrott scored twice for Spurs on Wednesday afternoon they beat Chelsea 2-0 in the U18 Premier League.
The 17-year-old Ireland underage international opened the scoring after 15 minutes when he slid the ball underneath the Chelsea keeper. Parrott doubled his side's lead in the second half with a brilliant free-kick from just outside the box. He also hit the woodwork twice.
The Dubliner has only recently returned from a seven-week layoff due to a toe injury. He made his comeback over the weekend, scoring twice against the Aston Villa U18s. He also made an appearance off the bench for the Spurs U23s on Monday.
"Troy has been unfortunate," Spurs Head of Academy Coaching and Player Development John McDermott told the club's website, "he’s had some time out and I thought he maybe looked a bit rusty at Villa the other day but it looks like he’s finding his rhythm and I was pleased for him today."
There were times where he contained their three centre-halves and gave them a real run for their money so I was pleased with those two [Parrott and Dilan Markanday].
Wednesday's win means that the U18 Premier League southern division title race will go down to the final day. Spurs are just a point behind Arsenal in the table. On April 27th, Spurs will host Leicester in their final game while Arsenal travel to Fulham.
