Spurs striker Harry Kane has been ruled out of this afternoon's clash with Everton, and it has presented a huge opportunity for a certain Irish forward. Troy Parrott's mercurial rise has taken another step, with the youngster being named in a Premier League matchday squad for the first time.
With Kane unavailable due to injury, Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to change his team at Goodison Park, with Lucas Moura starting up front in his absence. However, the more eye-catching aspect of his squad for those on this side of the Irish Sea is Parrott's presence on the bench.

The 17-year old featured heavily in pre-season made his first team debut in the League Cup clash with Colchester earlier this season, a game which Spurs would lose on penalties.
While the Dublin native had been part of the travelling party for Premier League games on a couple of previous occasions, he had not made the matchday squad.
Should he make his debut today, at 17 years 272 days old he will become the fourth youngest player to feature for Spurs in the Premier League, and the youngest since 2004.
Making his debut 17 years 27 days old, Stephen Carr is the youngest player to feature for the club in the Premier League. Carr is also the youngest Irish player to play in the Premier League, and Parrott would slot in at seventh place on that particular list should he play this afternoon.
This could be the start of a big month for Parrott, who could make his senior Ireland debut against New Zealand on November 14th. He has been included in the provisional squad for the games against the All Whites and Denmark, with Mick McCarthy hinting that he could start the friendly:
We have monitored Troy’s form and progress all season and New Zealand could be the ideal chance to have a look at him at senior international level.
We changed things around for the Bulgaria game in September and we saw the benefit of that with the performances of the players who came into the team and did well.
New Zealand may offer similar chances to players in the squad looking to get into the team and for those looking to get into the squad itself.
Troy could be one of the ones to benefit.
