Irish football is today mourning 16-year-old Josh Dunne, who was tragically killed last night in a stabbing incident in Dublin's East Wall.
Dunne, who was from Ballymun, was a very talented footballer for Tolka Rovers before joining Bohs/St Kevin's Boys. DublinLive is reporting that Dunne was killed while protecting a delivery driver whose bike was being robbed.
His clubs paid tribute to him on social media today.
Everyone at Bohemians is devastated to learn of the death of Bohs-SKB player Josh Dunne in tragic circumstances.
Josh was a talented young footballer who will be sadly missed by former team-mates and coaches.

They added:
This is an extremely difficult time for all of Josh's team-mates. The loss of someone so young in such circumstances will be hard for them to comprehend.
"Bohemian Football Club encourages them, or their parents on their behalf, to come forward and seek help if they are struggling. We will do all we can to support our players, past or present."

According to reports in the media today, gardaí have launched a murder investigation after Dunne was killed amid a row in the East Wall last night that saw two other people hospitalised with serious injuries.
According to RTÉ, Dunne had generated interested from a number of football clubs in the UK.
