Former West Ham and Manchester City footballer Trevor Sinclair is under investigation and suspended by talkSPORT after posting a controversial tweet in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth's death on Thursday.
With the UK mourning the death of the monarch after 70 years in power, Sinclair took to Twitter with a contentious take on her reign.
TalkSPORT have publicly responded to the controversy, saying that they will be investigating Sinclair for his remarks. They followed that tweet up by saying on Friday afternoon that Sinclair would not be appearing on the channel until the investigation was complete.
Trevor Sinclair will not be on air while we carry out a thorough investigation into the circumstances and timing of his tweet.
While we respect the right of Trevor Sinclair to express his opinion on his personal twitter account, talkSPORT does not endorse the tweet.— talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) September 9, 2022
Trevor Sinclair under investigation for tweet on Queen's death
Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom died on Thursday at the age of 96, after 70 years as the reigning monarch.
With the nation in mourning, talkSPORT pundit Trevor Sinclair took to Twitter in the aftermath of her passing. Sinclair, who played for West Ham, QPR, and Manchester City during a near-20-year playing career, posted a message in relation to the issue of racism in the UK:
Racism was outlawed in England in the 60's and its been allowed to thrive so why should black & brown mourn!! #queen
Sinclair's comments certainly went against the tide, and talkSPORT responded by condemning the remarks and saying that they would be investigating Sinclair for them.
We have been trying to make contact with Trevor Sinclair following opinions expressed on his Twitter account. talkSPORT does not support those views expressed and is investigating the matter.

Sinclair has appeared regularly on talkSPORT as a football pundit in recent years. As recently as this week, he appeared to discuss Liverpool's shocking 4-1 Champions League defeat to Napoli.
Sinclair was previously a contributor to both Football Focus and Match of the Day on the BBC.
The comment from Trevor Sinclair received a serious backlash on Thursday evening, with former teammates and co-workers among those to fire back at the Englishman.
Simon Jordan, also of talkSPORT, tweeted saying:
Trev - I’m really not sure that is an appropriate thought, let alone tweet.
The country has lost a very significant person and respect and value should be the over riding sentiments not division!
Sinclair's remarks certainly have not gone down well, and it remains to be seen if he will appear on the radio station again.
This weekend's Premier League games have since been postponed as a mark of respect to the Queen.
