Trevor Clarke could be set for a return to English football.
The Irish Sun's Neil O'Riordan reports today that the Shamrock Rovers midfielder is the subject of interest from Southampton with the club currently considering a 'six-figure' bid for the player.
The 19-year-old, who joined Rovers in 2015 after a brief spell with Middlesbrough, has been capped by Ireland at U16, U17 and U19 levels.
Last season he was named the club's Young Player of the Year.
This season, Clarke has been in good form, playing a variety of positions and scoring some spectacular goals. He has two nominated in Soccer Republic's Goal of the Month for May.

Southampton are not the only English club to have been linked with Clarke. The Irish Mirror reported late last week that Championship side Barnsley are 'keen' on the former St. Kevin's Boys player. Newly promoted Sheffield United are also said to have been keeping tabs on Clarke.
