Liverpool recorded a comprehensive 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday to maintain second place in the Premier League standings after winning four of their five opening games.
While Arne Slot seems to be slipping into the immeasurable hole left by Jurgen Klopp better than most Liverpool fans could've hoped for, the number of high-profile players out of contract at the end of this season is an ever-growing concern for the Anfield faithful.
Mo Salah has already spoken about the possibility of this being his last season at Liverpool, while both Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are yet to sign contracts that would secure their services past the conclusion of this season.
Although Fenway Sports Group's intentions with regard to Salah and Van Dijk still remain unclear, Trent Alexander-Arnold's comments in The Times certainly give Liverpool fans reason to hope that the defender's twenty years at the club may not be over yet.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's comments bode well for Liverpool future
Speaking to Paul Joyce of The Times, Alexander-Arnold made it clear that he had no intention of having his contract negotiations played out in public, but that he still had high hopes of captaining his boyhood club.
Look, I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public, and this one won’t be either.
The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest. I want to win trophies, I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor.
At the very least, Trent's comments suggest that there are contract negotiations to be played out, while his hopes of captaining Liverpool signal his clear desire to remain in Liverpool.
The England defender first joined the Liverpool youth set-up in 2004 and has been there ever since. He has appeared an astonishing 231 times for the senior side and has been directly involved in 100 goals during that time.
Arnold also revealed that he is enjoying the challenge of playing under new manager Arne Slot and the pair had ambitious plans together.
I said to him (Arne Slot) that I would like to be the defender that no one wants to come up against in Europe.
It is really refreshing to have a manager who will help and guide and teach me how to be better as a player. I am someone who wants to learn, someone who wants to be the best and someone who strives to be the best ever.
These comments will undoubtedly bode well with Liverpool fans who will be hoping to see Trent Alexander-Arnold line out in red once again next season.
While the future of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold is still clouded in uncertainty, the departure of Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer would not only be problematic for Liverpool but a significant oversight on the part of Liverpool's owner the Fenway Sports Group.
