Trapattoni Leaves Ireland By Mutual Consent

The FAI have announced that Geovanni Trapattoni has left his role as Ireland manager by mutual consent after an 'amicable meeting'.

Speaking on Newstalk John Delaney has said he feels Trap has 'left Irish football in a better state than what he inherited' and that the work begins to today to qualify for Euro 2016.

Trapattoni has said of the decision, 'I want to thank everyone in Ireland who has given us their support during our time here which has always meant a lot to us.'

Delaney has told Newstalk that the board will meet within the next week to determine the process for the next Irish manager after they 'take stock of the last couple of days.'

Marco Tardelli will also leave, although there has been no mention of what will happen to Manuela.
