Manchester United's hopes of signing Sergio Ramos have been revived after the Real Madrid defender reportedly rejected a new contract.
Spanish newspaper AS reports that the 29-year-old Real captain has grown frustrated by the clubs reluctance to meet his wage demands of £135,000-per-week.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly offered Ramos wages of £5.6m per season while he wants closer to £7m. The transfer saga was thought to have ended last month when it was announced that Ramos would sign a new contract at the Bernabeu, but it appears now that's not the case.
The centre-half is believed to be Louis Van Gaal's number one defensive target and United reportedly had an offer of £35m turned down earlier this summer but rumours are sure to pick up against now that Ramos' future is once again up in the air.
