While the Premier League transfer window closed last week, the rest of Europe is still alive with activity as the speculation over the future of World Cup star Luka Modric continues.
Modric's agent has suggested that the Croatian midfielder is open to playing for Inter Milan, amidst reports that he is set to leave Real Madrid. Marko Naletilic told Tuttosport that the 32-year-old is keen to on the idea of playing for Luciano Spalletti’s side.
Modric didn’t just think about playing at Inter, he’s really thrilled by the idea of having a big role with the Nerazzurri.
I have the feeling that sooner or later, Modric will play in Italy: he grew up watching Serie A.
Reports of a potential transfer escalated after Spalletti claimed Modric was keen on a move. On Tuesday, Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera suggested that while the Croatian star does want a transfer he is not willing to go to war with Madrid president Florentino Pérez over it given his good relationship with the club's hierarchy.
The Italian transfer window closes on August 17.
Meanwhile, France international Steven N'Zonzi is on the verge of joining Roma from Sevilla. The club met his €32 million release clause and have agreed personal terms.

The 29-year-old will be their 12th signing of the window, as they continue to try to replace a squad that lost Alisson Becker, Bruno Peres and Radja Nainggolan already this summer.
