I came here to chew bubblegum and take transfer rumours far too seriously. And I'm all out of bubblegum.
There's Only One Keano
Apart from Roy and Michael, of course. Ireland's most prolific striker has been out of the game since leaving LA Galaxy at the end of last season, and has been training with Shamrock Rovers and taking part in the odd kick-around in the meantime. Keane hasn't let on much to what his plans for the future are, but one of his former managers is interested in signing the 36-year-old.
Harry Redknapp was speaking to the Birmingham Mail this week about the possibility of signing the former Spurs man. Talks haven't taken place as of yet, but 'Arry is says he'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested, adding:
Any club could do worse than take Robbie.
Costa Fancies A Break
Atletico Madrid is the desired destination of Diego Costa, with the Chelsea striker unwanted by Antonio Costa for next season. As the Spanish club are currently subject to a transfer ban, they can't register the Brazilian-born star as a player until January. It's a seriously brave move for the Spanish international in a World Cup year, although his hamstrings might thank him for it in the long run.
Olivier Gir-out
Arsenal are about to spend a club record £44 million on Alexandre Lacazette after the Lyon attacker completed his medical at the club. That's a lot of money for a player who is being kept out of the France starting lineup by Olivier Giroud, who is more than likely going to leave now. Or perhaps they'll play up front together. In any case Everton and West Ham are definitely two teams keeping an eye on him.
The Transfer Terriers
Huddersfield Town are not messing about. Just last week they broke their transfer record bringing in Aaron Mooy from Manchester City for £10 million. Then on Tuesday they broke it again when they signed Steve Mounie from Montpellier for £11.5 million. And in between all that they bought Tom Ince from Derby County. Whether it's enough to keep them up is another question, but they're having a fair whack of it.
Rud Awakening
Chelsea are bulking up their squad with the signing of Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma. The German international was seriously impressive for the Italian side as they finished second to Juventus in Serie A. Turns out he's leaving in part due to the racist taunts he received from Lazio fans during the Derby Della Capitale clashes between the two teams.
