This morning brings another fresh batch of transfer rumours and with it, another plethora of names linked to Manchester United. As unfounded and ultimately farcical as these links tend to be, perhaps the most ludicrous one of this window is the news that Paul Pogba may not be moving to Manchester United. This report comes from Express this morning and it's safe to assume that humanity as a whole can ignore that particular piece of information.

Now, on to the rumours that are actually feasible...

According to El Confidencial, Manchester United are poised to make a £54m swoop for James Rodriquez.

The Guardian are reporting that Chelsea are looking to sign Edinson Cavani. This is the kind of transfer news that is unlikely given that PSG just watched their prized asset move to Manchester.

New Everton manager Ronald Koeman is lining up a bid for Swansea's Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. According to The Telegraph, Koeman is offering £25m for the 26 year-old. One million for every year in his life and another for being from Iceland, the little nation that could.

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Valencia’s Andre Gomes. Reports in Spain suggest that the deal could be worth £46m. The 22-year-old becomes the fourth signing of the summer for Barcelona after Sanuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne and the re-signing of Denis Suarez.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to be linked to Manchester City with Skybet now offering odds of 4/1 on the rapid striker joining Sergio Aguero to form a genuinely frightening strikeforce.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly sounding out Schalke for a deal to bring German international and Football Manager favourite Max Meyer to Liverpool. Reports from Germany and The Liverpool Echo suggest that the fee could be in the region of £28m.

Arsenal are reportedly fuming that Manchester City are trying to lure Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin to the Etihad.

Manchester City have been beaten to the signing of Gabriel Jesus by Real Madrid according to The Guardian. But Goal are reporting that Manchester United are preparing a £29m bid for the 19-year-old Brazilian.

According to reports from L'Equipe, Alexandre Lacazette wants t leave Lyon this summer, with Arsenal as his preferred target.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Calum Chambers is a target for Watford. However Arsenal are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old.

Watford have also made a £16m offer for Lille midfielder Sofiane Boufal according to the Watford Observer.

And finally...

Robin van Persie will not be moving to Stoke City according to the Daily Star. The 31-year-old is interested in a move to Barcelona as a fourth option behind the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
