The transfer window has officially slammed shut on what was a relatively busy deadline day, although lacking an iconic example of profligacy as previous windows have had: we're thinking Andy Carroll, or Robinho.
The topline news from an Irish point of view is that Robbie Brady has secured a Premier League move: becoming Burnley's record transfer in a £13 million move. Burnley also signed Ashley Westwood from Aston Villa.
There was another late move for an Irish international defender: Marc Wilson has left Bournemouth in a loan deal to West Brom.
Elsewhere, potential Irish international Scott Hogan has swapped Brentford for Aston Villa in a £15 million transfer, although it hasn't started well: Brentford beat Villa 3-0 in the Championship last night.
Elsewhere in that same division, Eoin Doyle has gone to Portsmouth on loan from Preston North End, which might just clear a squad place at Deepdale for one Robbie Keane. QPR have signed Ravel Morrison on loan from Lazio, which won't help Ryan Manning's hopes of maintaining his place in the QPR first team.
Also, Southampton's signing of €17.5 million of Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini might be bad news for Shane Long, despite the Irishman scoring in his side's 2-1 defeat to Swansea last night.
Away from an Irish point of view, Mamadou Sakho has finally left Liverpool: having been rotting in the reserves all season, Sakho has joined Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season. Palace will pay all of his wages, with Liverpool pocketing a £2 million signing bonus too.
Arouna Kone has become one of the few players to leave Everton and not join David Moyes at Sunderland - he's heading to Crystal Palace, too. Chelsea were at the heart of deals not done: They turned down a ludicrous £20 million offer from Bournemouth for Nathan Ake, rejected offers for Asmir Begovic having failed to sign Craig Gordon from Celtic and a move for Moussa Dembele never strayed beyond speculation.
Swansea completed the signing of Jordan Ayew from Villa, having previously employed his brother Andre. Although Paul Clement appears to be a little confused about exactly which Ayew he has signed..
Perennial Arsenal target Cheick Tiote signed for Shandong Luneng where he'll join up with Papiss Cisse, while Odion Ighalo left Watford for Changchun Yatai, also of China.
This represents a serious change of heart on Ighalo's part. He rejected a move to China a year ago, and here's what he had to say:
I prayed about it, and God said it was not for me, no matter how much money it was. I knew God would direct me. When I said I don’t want to go, they offered me more money, almost £300,000 a week. I told them it’s not about the money.
‘I helped this team to promotion. How can I leave because of money? I know money is good. With that sort of money I can secure my life. But you can’t sell your dream.
See y'all on August 31st.
