- Man City have signed Maicon from Inter Milan for a bargain £3m and have agreed a £16m for Javi Garcia of Benfica. Nigel de Jong has left from AC Milan.
- Michael Essien could be on his way to Arsenal and Nicklas Bendtner has left Arsenal on loan to Juventus.
- Charlie Adam has joined Stoke for £4m from Liverpool
- Swansea have signed winger Pablo Hernandez from Valencia for £5.5m

14:35 French sports daily, L'Equipe, are reporting that Hugo Lloris will leave Olympique Lyon and head for Spurs before the end of this most chaotic of days.
I once had a friend text me at 3am to tell me "Hugo Lloris is the future of goalkeeping". The claim remains to be proved.

The talk is that the unfortunately hair-styled Marouane Chamakh will be joining Malaga or Besiktas on a long term loan, while Michael Essien will be bubble wrapped before he is delivered from Stamford Bridge and into the clutches of Arsene Wenger.
Presumably Wenger hasn't been available for comment on either story as he's currently driving his Moroccan striker to the airport, quite quickly.
