With so many managers leaving Premier League clubs recently, a trend has emerged: the big farewell. Long serving managers (which is 2+ years at this stage) have been making big gestures to the fans to thank them. We had Fergie's speech a few weeks back but now the newspaper ad is becoming fashionable, partly because style icon Roberto Mancini took out a full page in the Manchester evening news. Tony Pulis followed suit in the Stoke Sentinel and predictably got a few digs in.
I am grateful for this opportunity here to express my gratitude because, unlike Roberto Mancini in his local paper last week, I can't afford to take out a full-page advert.
I will never forget the effort and the later celebrations as we won promotion back to the top division for the first time in 23 years.
So he has a dig at Arsenal and Mancini but praises Ryan Shawcross.
Can Pulis really not afford a full page ad? He must have spent his pay packet on all those awful signings or baseball caps, the man does love his baseball caps.
