We hope James McClean likes a good run, because Neil Moxey of the Sunday People has revealed that Tony Pulis makes his players run A LOT before the Premier League season kicks off.

In fact, the West Brom players will be running the equivalent of a marathon every three days as they aim to be one of the fittest sides in the Premier League. Pulis has made changes to the sport science department since becoming the manager at West Brom, and he is insisting that his players run 26 miles every 72 hours to ensure that they won't be running on empty at the latter stages of their league and cup games. A club insider explained that while it is tough, it will help in the long run.

It’s brutal. There’s no other way to describe it.

But Tony has always been a hands-on boss and if it ends with us being the fittest club in the Premier League, that’s no bad thing.

We've heard about players having a strop in training when there isn't enough ball work, but it doesn't take an expert to know that those players are very rarely found in Tony Pulis' squads.

It will be worth keeping an eye on West Brom in the first weeks of the new season to see if there is a noticeable trend in their performances at the latter stages of their matches.
