Tony Pulis is back in management, and his record in having never been relegated to the championship is already secure: he's taken a gig in the championship. Pulis has been confirmed this morning as Garry Monk's replacement at Middlesbrough. Monk was fired after Saturday's win against Sheffield Wednesday after a poor run of form that has seen them slump to ninth place in the league.
As expected, Pulis' absence from the touchline has been brief, having been sacked by West Brom in November. He has been absent from the Championship for quite a while, however, having not coached in the division since his time with Stoke City.
Pulis had been mentioned as a potential candidate for the doomed role at Swansea City, but now that he has replaced Monk at the Riverside, Monk is now the favourite to return to the Liberty Stadium for a second crack at the job.
