Today's transfer rumours features some juicy stories about some of the Premier League's top club, as Spurs close in on a first signing in a year, Manchester United could be about to lose one of their brightest young stars, and Manchester City are dealt a severe blow in their chase for an Ajax player.

United may lose highly rated youngster

Despite Ole Gunnar's Solskjaer willingness to give youth a chance during his brief time in charge at Old Trafford, it appears that United may be about to lose one of their most talented youngsters.

The Mirror are reporting that Josh Bohui could leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season, with Barcelona and Monaco both interested in his services. He had been labelled by some as the 'new Andy Cole', with many holding high hopes for him at the club.

Spurs hoping to bring in Bundesliga midfielder this month

Despite financial restrictions due to the building of their new stadium, Spurs want to bring in some reinforcements during the January window. Their primary target is Hoffenheim's Florian Grillitsch according to Sky Sports, who has an £18million release clause in his contract.

With Mousa Dembele set to move to China, this rumour looks like it may have some legs.

Unai Emery confirms Arsenal will only sign loan players this month

While Arsenal have been linked with a number of players (including Barcelona's Denis Suarez), manager Unai Emery says the club will not make any permanent signings this month:

We cannot make payments to sign players. We can only loan players.

I don’t know about his [Suarez] situation. But we can only sign players on loan.

I know the club is working to find players who can help us, with this condition. I know these players and they are very good players. But I cannot sign more.

Frenkie de Jong to stay at Ajax until at least the summer

Ajax have a number of prodigious talents in the squad at the moment, with Matthijs de Ligt and  Frenkie de Jong their two biggest assets. Both have been linked with January moves away from the clubs, with Barcelona and PSG leading the race for their signatures.

It appears that at least one of the players will still be in Amsterdam for the rest of the season, however, after Frenkie de Jong confirmed his intentions to remain at the club in a social media post. Manchester City had been heavily courting the player, but Pep Guardiola's attentions will now have to be turned elsewhere.

Rangers want to sign Ryan Kent on a permanent deal

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent has been tearing it up on loan at Rangers this season, as Steven Gerrard tries to put some pressure on Celtic in the title race. His influence has been so great that the club now want to sign him on a permanent deal, with the Daily Star reporting that they could open talks with the Merseyside club about a potential transfer soon.
