A few weeks ago, we reported that Macclesfield Town were offering one lucky fan the opportunity to play for the team. Well, James Gorfin paid £10,000 to fulfill his dream of training with his local club for a week and playing 20 minutes of a pre-season friendly with Stoke City. Sadly for the Manchester United season ticket holder, he only lasted ten minutes, as he suffered a groin strain in an attempt to get on the end of a cross. The difference between agony and ecstasy for the local business man was only a matter of inches.
