One of the finest achievements of BBC Quiz Show Pointless has been its ability to bring the good word of football to daytime viewers of BBC One.
That demographic would not be considered to be Good Football Men and Women, but undeterred, Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman have brought the good word of Henrik Larsson and more importantly, Paul McShane, and the audience are all the better for such an important education.
The greatly inferior ITV quiz show Tipping Point, hosted by Chummy Ben Shephard, has now attempted to repeat the trick. In the event you are unaware, Tipping Point is an utterly mad show based on that coin-pushing arcade game.
On a recent episode, during a quick-fire question round, Chummy Ben dropped the football question.
"Which English football club did Peter Schmeichel play for?"
The answer was astounding.
Which english football team did Peter Schmeichel play for ? She said... Germany ?? #TippingPoint pic.twitter.com/uwnaR3eLe7
