It might not be the radical, secessionist step that will bring about major change in FIFA, but the FA's call today for the FIFA presidential election to be postponed is about as incendiary a move as could have realistically been made. Now it's time for the FAI and John Delaney to stand up and support our cross-channel neighbours. Cryptic measures like leaving the Irish Ballon d'Or ballot blank were clever, but at this moment, it's important that the heave against Blatter and everything he upholds is not seen as solely English unrest motivated by being spurned for the 2018 World Cup (even if we have our own blatant, simmering beef with FIFA). Abbotstown needs to take a stand. Removing Blatter will hardly clean up FIFA, but it's the start football needs. Be heard on this, John Delaney
