For Jack Grealish, this summer brought unwanted attention in the form of tabloid media headlines highlighting type of things you are not supposed to be doing as a professional footballer.
Being photographed with "hippy crack" and unconscious on the side of a road in Spain after a night of drinking is the type of thing that would have had his manager Tim Sherwood shaking his head in disapproval, but Jack Grealish will hopefully have learned from his mistakes and will keep a lower profile in future.
That was the sentiment that Sherwood echoed when asked about the Irish U21 international, and although he admitted he was frustrated by the events in the summer, he was very positive when discussing Grealish and suggested that he is a one of kind type of player.
I will back him 100%, he is such a talented boy.
I love him to death and I hate him at the same time! I want to nurture him to fulfil his full potential. He did annoy me in the summer, but he annoyed himself. Hopefully the penny has dropped with him.
Young kids make mistakes. But they come through it. He is a one-off - and he is a one-off on the pitch. He has come through it and we need to move on now.
Hopefully we will get to see Grealish show what he is capable of in the Premier League again in the near future, although he has been playing (and scoring) for the U21 squad in recent weeks.
At least he can rest easy in the knowledge that his manager is behind him, but hopefully we start to see Jack grab the headlines for the right reasons in the future.
