Tim Howard won the internet, as well as the hearts and minds of the many Americans who tuned in to watch the USA's last 16 match against Belgium yesterday.
His gallant efforts between the posts earned him some hilarious - and actually quite imaginative praise. Howard's fans were so enamoured by him, that they started to alter his Wikipedia page (and some other pages) to display things like, 'Tim Howard Is The American Jesus'. Here are some of the best.
Shout out to whomever changed Tim Howard's title on Wikipedia to, "US Secretary of Defense." pic.twitter.com/tevh5hHYEk

Even Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, endorsed the 'Secretary of Defense' one.
I do NOT APPROVE of vandalizing wikipedia for comedic effect. But this is exquisite: http://t.co/ReAWTYyppQ
