Today we look at a sensational story from the Star, one that blows all other rumours out of the water. The strongest evidence yet that Gareth Bale will join Real Madrid, the Tottenham winger was pictured smiling during Wales' 0-0 draw with Republic of Ireland last night. Why else would anyone smile during that tragedy of a match. It's hard to argue with indisputable proof such as this:
Just look at that thought bubble. Amazing that other papers haven't picked up on this. Of course, the rest of today's transfer gossip will pale by comparison to this scoop but we shall carry on regardless.
Manchester United's hopes of signing Marouane Fellaini have been a dealt a blow, with Everton boss Roberto Martinez revealing that a release clause in the Belgian's contract expired two weeks ago. Further bad news for United fans, the club will now return to their fruitless pursuit of Cesc Fabregas and are preparing a £40 million bid. When that fails, they will return to Fellaini, then back to Fabregas and repeat until the transfer window closes.
Arsenal have also been frustrated yet again, with Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo set to join Wolfsburg according to reports in Germany, while Columbian midfielder Sebastian Perez has been refused a work permit according to the Star. The paper also says Arsene Wenger has dispatched a scout to PSV to check out Georginio Wijnaldum and Zakaria Bakkali.

The Mail says Luis Suarez has denied a report saying he will stay at Liverpool, though other papers say the want-away striker will enter showdown talks with Brendan Rodgers.
In other news, Tottenham have confirmed the £9 million signing of Etienne Capoue from Toulouse. Manchester City are eyeing Atletico Madrid defender Martin Demichelis as well as Liverpool's Daniel Agger, according to the Mirror and Star respectively. Fulham are in pole position to sign Darren Bent from Aston Villa, West Brom are closing on Scott Sinclair despite the Manchester City striker being linked with Liverpool and Sunderland are leading the chase for Valencia defender Aly Cissokho.
But we refuse to believe any story until we see a photo of the player smiling, with a thought bubble containing the crest of their linked club.
