Footballers and the media have a fraught relationship at the best of times. It's a constant battle between press and player but Germany's Thomas Müller has conjured up an inventive way of avoiding journalists.
The striker disembarked the plane with his Bayern teammates as they returned to Munich following a winter break to Doha. As is likely often the case, the world class players were met by paparazzi, flashing their cameras in the hopes of photographing the German champions arriving home.
Being the opportunist that he is, Müller quickly grabbed his passport, put it to his ear and proceeded to talk as if he was on the phone. The grin that stretches across his face as he passes by the respective members of the media says it all really. Judging by the laughter of those in the airport, it evident that the joke was not lost on the media.
Pure divilment.

Thomas Müller has struggled to adapt to life under Carlo Ancelotti, having scored just one goal in thirteen games this season for Bayern Munich and admitted that he is not content with the current situation at the club. Speaking to German tabloid, Bild;
The last game against Leipzig was not ideal for me on a personal level because I did not play.
There was more space than in previous games and it was a game where I could have enjoyed myself.
So I was obviously not watching on from the bench with a smile on my face.
So it is refreshing to see the 2010 World Cup goldenboot winner in a humorous mood as he made his way through the airport.
The reigning Bundesliga champions sit on top of the table, three points clear of surprise challengers RB Leipzig. Bayern resume action on the domestic front on the 20th of January against SC Freiburg - who are currently in eight place.
