This Per Mertesacker Song Is Pure Genius

Well this is my new favourite song anyway, mainly because I love Manic Street Preacehers, and to a lesser extent, Per Mertesacker.

According to the YouTube description by uploader and recorder of the song Zachery Stephenson, the new lyrics were written by Manics biographer Simon Price.

Some time in the not too distant past, journalist and Manic Street Preachers biographer Simon Price appropriated the Welsh band's 1992 hit 'Motorcycle Emptiness' replacing the words with those of German footballers.

It was a bizarre but ingenious step and I found myself singing along as I read the lyrics so I felt compelled to record a version using a karaoke track.

I subsequently felt obliged to muster up a very basic video to accompany it. Here it is.
