Andres Iniesta. Great player, makes the team tick, the thinking man's Messi. More trophies by his late twenties than most of the Premier League teams put together.
All true and it's difficult not to like Iniesta. He plays the game the way it should be played and he does it effectively. Or does he? Iniesta's influence on the Barcelona team has undoubtedly wained since the Guardiola/Vilanova but when we saw this stat we couldn't help but begin to question everything we knew about football and the game it should be.
It's 361 days since Iniesta scored or assisted a league goal. But he's in the team to make reducers so that's ok.

You know who does have an assist AND a goal in the past year? West Ham defender James Tomkins for one. All aboard the Big Sam bandwagon.
