There's One Liverpool Player In Particular Getting A Serious Amount Of Stick Today

Heading in to today's game against West Ham, Liverpool were one of three teams who had yet to concede a goal in the Premier League. Suffice to say that surprising statistic did not last long. Brendan Rodgers has been savaged by some sections of the Anfield faithful for his desire to persist with the Lovren-Skrtel central defensive pairing, yet, when they were playing well, the Liverpool boss had no reason to doubt his decisions. That may change now.

A 3-0 loss at home to the Hammers and the knives are out for poor old Dejan Lovren. Just when it looked like he may reach an acceptable level he goes and puts in the kind of performance that would make even the most kind hearted of Southampton fans give a hearty laugh.

To make things worse, Philippe Coutinho's second yellow card means he'll miss the trip to Old Trafford in two weeks time and that positive start of season feeling is beginning to disappear for Liverpool fans. But, in reality, there's one man who's dominating thoughts today and it's all for the wrong reasons after the Croat's calamitous defending in the build up to West Ham's second goal in particular.

If Rodgers is really determined to stick it out with the former Southampton man, it looks like it could be a long season for Liverpool fans.
