This is the story all about how Stephen Kenny's life got flipped turned upside down. The Dundalk manager was minding his own business during the week, reading the paper and having a delicious coffee when he decided to call time on his importmptu mid afternoon soiree. The afternoon took a sour turn however as minutes later Kenny felt the cold breeze of the Irish sea grab a hold of him, something he had been warned about that very morning.
Kenny was always a man prepared and couldn't understand how the cold temperatures were getting to him, when suddenly he looked around to discover that he had been separated from his own jumper, not any garment, but his most treasured jumper.
This is where the owner of the Panama Cafe gets involved. It was Stephen Egan who was quick to the beat and realized the dark clouds must have been circling Kenny, the "sometime" patron of the fine establishment. Soon after the jumper was returned to it's rightful owner and the clock in the town hall started ticking again, life in Dundalk was back to normal.
We can only thank the folk at the Dundalk democrat for bringing this story to light, a lesson for us all, and remember, not all these horrific incidences are so quickly resolved.
