Roy Hodgson has today named a 24 man squad for the upcoming games against Ireland and Slovenia and there's a few surprising additions. Tom Heaton, Charlie Austin and Jamie Vardy have all been called up in a squad that is surprisingly without Man United's Ashley Young.
There wasn't quite the hype around the England squad announcement as there was around the Ireland one last week but nonetheless this is certainly an interesting selection from Hodgson and one which Martin O'Neill will certainly be hoping to get a positive result against.
