After a strenuous - and occasionally downright bullshit - season of Fantasy Premier League, the focus of fantasy managers everywhere now turns to France.
Now well-rested, the Balls.ie Fantasy Football Podcast trio of Mikey Traynor, Mark Farrelly and Gavan Casey have started a Balls fantasy Euros league over on UEFA.com. The password to join the feverishly anticipated competition is 81482TFB.
It was in making their teams, however, where the lads discovered a number of startling anomalies where the Ireland team and its ratings were concerned. For one thing, Anthony Stokes is available for 5.0m despite not having lined out for the Boys In Green since November 2014.
Meanwhile Robbie Keane, who won't start this summer barring injuries, is Ireland's most expensive player at 7.5m, while potential Golden Boot winner and Ballon D'Or candidate Shane Long is available for 1m less, as is potential Golden Boot winner and Ballon D'Or candidate Jon Walters.
Birmingham City midfielder Stephen Gleeson is listed amongst the midfielders, and so too is Jack Byrne, with both valued at 4.5m. The uncapped Richie Towell, too, makes UEFA.com's Ireland squad and is available at the same price.
If you have literally no interest in competing this summer and instead wish to blood some youth, 20-year-old former Liverpool defender Daniel Cleary might well be the best choice in defence. The Dubliner has not yet represented his country at senior level and quite obviously isn't in Ireland's squad, but at just 4.0m he's still difficult to overlook.
Cork City defender John Kavanagh is also listed at the minimum price despite his non-involvement in Martin O'Neill's squad and current injury, but as far as Cinderella stories go, he's probably your guy.
Goalkeeper is probably the one area of the Irish team where the UEFA fantasy powers haven't made a total fecking bags of everything, with Darren Randolph and Shay Given worth 4.5 each. But Keiren Westwood could be serious value at 4.0 in the unlikely event that he starts a game in France.
However, this act of flagrant disrespect by UEFA have left us with no choice but to go Balls-in on Euros fantasy, and try to get our hands on the grand prize of a trip to McDonalds - or whatever the bloody thing is. Join us in the Balls.ie Euro 2016 Fantasy League and let's send shockwaves through European football.
