There are plans to build two adult slides at the St. James Park Metro station which would mean Newcastle supporters no longer having to make the long haul down two flights of steps to the Metro station. The slides are already used in Holland where they have known as "travel accelerators".

Adrian Waddell, Director of Operations at the business district improvements company, NE1, says that the slides will bring the "wow factor" to the St. James Park area.
