Chances are if you are Irish, you were watching last night's game between Ireland and Italy.
RTE released their viewing figures for last night's game, and as you can expect they're big. An average of 1.2 million people tuned in, with a peak of 1.45 million in the 90 minutes. That's about 73.6% of people who were watching television at the time - presumably the other 26.4% were watching on ITV or BBC.
ITV's figures were also huge, they had 5.71 million people, with a peak of 8.62 million from their UK audience. That places Italy v Ireland as the ninth most watched game of the Euros in the UK so far, and it was the second most on RTE after Ireland's opening draw with Sweden.
But that's not the most interesting news to come from RTE's viewership figures. The peak number of viewers tuning in to RTE's post match analysis of the game was 1.47 million. The eagle-eyed amongst you will realise that that is 20,000 extra viewers watching Giles, Brady, and Dunphy after the game than the actual game itself.
Why is this happening? Perhaps those people who wanted to watch Alf were finished and wanted to tune in. Maybe others preferred the dulcet tones of Jonathan Pearce or Andy Townsend during the game. Or maybe, just maybe the Irish people still have a fascination with Eamonn Dunphy and want to know what he had to say.
Or maybe, just maybe Apres Match is that good.
