There was a real air of confidence from Manchester United fans that they could get one over their neighbours at Old Trafford.
That confidence appeared to be a little misplaced when Sergio Aguero gave City the lead less than ten minutes into the game. United responded quickly ripping the advantage from their rivals hands in just 20 minutes through goals from Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini, both of whom were excellent for their side. Second half goals from Juan Mata and Chris Smalling sealed the win for the home team. Aguero would get another for the defeated Man City as the game finished 4-2.
This was how Twitter reacted to the Manchester derby.
Yeeeees city????????????????@aguerosergiokun !!! 1-0

Not long before "Do you watch Phil Jones play football?" is a question on life insurance forms.

Never thought we'd get to April and Van Gaal would be praising Fellaini because "he always plays the ball to the same colour, every time"

This is the type of performance that could eventually cost a manager his job. Pellegrini crestfallen. Young f-k, Smalling header. 4-1 #mufc

Rooney also a bit of a Ferguson in his own way. The amount of strikers that have come through, and he's seen them all off, still producing.

'Clichy can't defend' is becoming a football cliché.

Doubt Louis Van Gaal at your peril. Proven winner over and over again.
