The footballers of Switzerland got to hear what this Easter Rising fuss was all about this evening as seven children of Ballymun read out the Proclamation of Independence at Lansdowne Road this evening.
The GAA and O'Neill's may have unveiled about 7,000 1916 jerseys at this point, but the FAI aren't to be outdone. When looking forward to Euro 2016 at the turn of the year, John Delaney invoked Easter week 1916, the scene of the greatest moral victory in Irish history.

Their programme for tonight's game had Oscar Traynor emblazoned on the cover, the Belfast Celtic goalkeeper and 1916 rebel garrison commander.
Before the match tonight, they arranged for a gang of seven school kids from Ballymun to read out the proclamation of independence.
Neil O'Riordan wasn't alone in noting the proud waving of the Lucozade flag during the solemn rendition.
Aviva treated to Proclamation reading & Roy Keane's beard. That's 1916 & Fenians remembered in one night. Game not so memorable #IRESUI.
