We know that Jamie Vardy scored another two goals at the weekend. And yes, we know that that Claudio Ranieri wept beautiful tears of joy. The fact that Fabio Borini kicked himself in the face did not go unnoticed either.
The real hero was the linesman Eddie Smart ahead Manchester United's game against Spurs at White Hart Lane, who ratcheted his emotional pitch to 11 in the tunnel:
Brilliant. The assistant referee at White Hart Lane is definitely pumped up for this. Enjoy... pic.twitter.com/8uFbGEoD87

Fantastic. It reminds us of Ron Burgundy psyching himself up before broadcast in Anchorman. The linesman knew the camera was on him: see the slight, surreptitious glance at the cameraman before beginning to psyche himself up.
The official's mental exercises contrast fantastically well with the cold, stoic and aloof gaze of Michael Carrick behind him.
The game went well, as the linesman manufactured great sound and fury to adequately raise and lower a flag. He was helped by Manchester United's refusal to attack in any consistent or speedy manner, meaning there were few decisions he could have got wrong.
