Kevin Doyle's return to the starting line-up wasn't a happy occasion as he was stretchered off halfway through the first half following a clash with Norwich City's Timm Klose.
The ball ricocheted between the pair, Doyle nipped in first but the pair clattered into each other with a sickening crack. Doyle's leg took the worst of it.
He was taken to hospital with a very bad gash on his right leg.

He decided to unsettle the squeamish by tweeting a picture of the gash about ten minutes ago. He doesn't expect to be sidelined for too long.
Martin O'Neill confirmed in the post-match press conference that he suffered a deep cut and was under anaesthetic to get it cleaned up.
The Colorado Rapids folk will no doubt find it very comical that their star player picked up an injury during a friendly back home.
