The Most Obvious Transfer Rumour In Football History Now Has A Price Tag

Jamie Vardy has now scored in eight consecutive Premier League games. Eleven games into the season, he has eleven Premier League goals. It's now November and Liverpool are a bit short of options up front. Divock Origi doesn't look ready for first team football, Danny Ings is out for the season and Daniel Sturridge is on a one man mission to prove that a man made of glass can make a very good living out of professional football.

Christian Benteke returned to devastating effect against Chelsea but you can never have enough options up front. Which is why it was only a matter of time before someone put two and two together and got 'Vardy to Liverpool'.

It was ESPN who first gave credence to the rumour and to ensure we all knew how legit it was, there was even the qualifying statement that it was all good news for the Anfield club as Spurs were planning on starting a battle over the England striker.

Sure it wouldn't be a Liverpool transfer rumour if Spurs weren't planning on hijacking it.

Ever since Dempsey and Sigurdsson, it's not a Liverpool transfer rumour unless Daniel Levy is waiting in the wings. But this time there's also the addition of Borussia Dortmund to throw a spanner in the works.

The Daily Star are reporting that Dortmund have joined the old transfer foes along with, most bizarrely, West Brom to jostle over Vardy's signature. Not only that, there's some very good news for the potential suitors in that the fee being bandied about is extremely reasonable.

£15 million is the apparently the magic number that Leicester will accept for the 28 year old. In reality, we can't really see Jurgen Klopp opting for another striker in January. We'll take a guess at Spurs opting for Saido Berahino once more. Allowing West Brom to move for Vardy and Leicester promptly telling them where to stick their £15 million.
